Young Eagles Flight and Red Wing Airport Tour! – 4-H Members will become Young Eagles and will get a tour of the airport. Then you will each be paired with an experienced, licensed Young Eagle Pilot where you Young Eagles will help with the preflight inspection of the airplane. Chapter 1518 YE Pilots will take one or two Young Eagles at a time on a 15-20 minute flight around the Red Wing area. The intent is to give the Young Eagle a very positive introduction to flight. This event is for members in grades 4-9 on July 22nd. Limited space!
2-Day Summer Camp for Grades 3-5 are on June 24 and 25. Campers in grades 3-5 join us for 2 super fun days and hang out with 4-H friends! Click here for more info on the camp. Get registration in by June 14th.

Bread Making Series – March 4, 11, 18 and 25. Sessions will be on Zoom from 6:30 – 8 p.m. A $6 fee will be charged which will provide you with information on how to make the breads and a copy of a multi-bread variety cookbook. Join us for a 4-H Arts & Crafts Mini-Camp in a Bag Series
This fun and educational “in a bag” series will be held via Zoom from 6-7 pm on the following Tuesdays Feb 23-March 16, 2021. The cost to participate will be $12.00 per participant. Lessons are for 3rd-5th graders. Your bag will include materials that you would not ordinarily have at home to make the planned projects and help you explore art principles and mediums. We’ll be working with clay, textiles, paper, and paint. Here are the planned dates and topics for the series:
February 23- discuss symmetry while making paper snowflakes March 2- make a pinch pot and discuss texture March 9- make felt stuffies (design your own animal plus sew your felt stuffie) March 16- explore elements of design and paint over a wax crayon design

Clothing Revue 2019 – The Clothing Revue will be held on Tuesday June 25th, 2019 at the Seyforth Building. A Style Show will be held for judging. A packet of all info was sent to all Clothing Project Members (also Knitting and Crocheting and Explorers/Cloverbuds) so if you are in that project watch for a packet. Call the office with questions. Must be signed up in clothing project/knitting/crocheting/explorer/cloverbus projects in order to compete.

MARCH 2019 – Performing Arts Festival March 16 at the Meyer Middle School in River Falls- Sign up for an individual music or dance entry and perform in front of a judge. And/or bring in photography items to be judged. Ribbons will be awarded at an Awards Ceremony that day! We are also looking for pictures you have taken around Pierce County for the “Life in Pierce County” photo contest so get out around our beautiful county and snap some shots and enter them in the PAF! Top photos will be selected to be hung at the courthouse with your name for a year! Also enter your “Pierce County’s Got Talent” talent contest as a solo or with a friend(s)! Any act- comedy, sing, musical, dance, gymnastics, juggling, baton twirling… whatever your talent is, can be performed for cash prize for 1st and 2nd place! We have two exciting 4-H stem tours planned for members grades 6-7-8 (based on grade for 17-18 school year that you just came out of) coming up in July. One to the Red Wing Airport on July 17th for a guided tour of the airport and short flight around the area with an EAA Pilot. The other stem tour will be on July 20th and is a trip to the U of M Raptor Center where we will take a guided tour of the Raptor Education Center and have a special learning session with 3 birds of prey. Performing Arts Festival is March 24 at the Prescott High School. Clubs will present their dramas and members will be judged for individual music and dance entries. You can also enter your photography to be judged. Life in Pierce County Photos will be selected and we will have the Pierce County’s Got Talent Contest (for cash prize!) at this festival too! If you are not in the dramas or involved in being judged please stop out to see what it is all about and watch some fun dramas put on by other 4-H clubs or great music talent.
